Dr Botanicals Coffee Superfood Facial Exfoliator || Review

10/27/2017

I adore face scrubs. Before I was in the know about skincare and the do's and don'ts (Okay, before I started reading blogs and watching YT), I used to scrub at my skin every night trying to shrink my pores and even out my complexion. Shockingly, it just made my skin a little dry and sensitive. Go figure. I'm still on the hunt for the perfect cleanser but I have a pretty good idea on what products work with my skin. I recently received the Dr Botanicals Coffee Superfood Renewing Facial Exfoliator for review and I'll be honest, I was a tad sceptical. Despite having only heard good things about the brand prior to this, I've never really tried a product that I hadn't openly searched for before. Was there a spot in my routine for a new scrub? The answer is yes.

Never before have I received instant results from a product. Within one wash my skin had gone from having a few little skin coloured bumps on my forehead, open pores, and feeling just a little mucky to plump and overall clear. I wish I was lying as I'm now terrified that the results will vanish and refuse to come back, but I'll enjoy it while it lasts. I've now used the scrub twice in the past 7 days and it has created a few dry spots but I think that's nothing a moisturiser can't fix and we are getting to that time of year. Yup, you're reading my mind. Now I need to get my hands on the Dr Botanicals daily moisturiser. I'm going on a slippery slope here.

I try my best to keep my ethics in check when purchasing products, though I'll admit to sometimes entirely forgetting to check, which is absolutely terrible. If you have any requirements when buying shiny new things, I can guarantee Dr Botanical will stand with your morals. Exhibit A:

✓Vegan
✓ Cruelty Free
✓ 100% Natural

All of which are printed boldly on the box. It's just a small thing, but I really appreciate the ease of it. The main active ingredients of the formulation are Coffee Oil and Walnut Shell Powder, and for best results you probably ought to refrigerate after use. Fancy. As you can probably tell, I adore this product and I'm so thankful I got the opportunity to try it out (and even more thankful that it didn't break me out). The 50ml pot is quite small for the £34.00 they ask for, but you really don't need a lot of product per use so I imagine it'll stretch quite far. If not, I'll let you know.

Have you tried anything from Dr Botanicals? What do you think of the brand?

Disclaimer: I was sent the product for review but was not asked to do a review or anything of the sorts. This is simply because I really like it.
